Former Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect has recently updated his Twitter header image, sparking curiosity among fans about the reason behind the change. Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, known as Dr Disrespect, was permanently banned from Twitch in 2020. The gaming content creator faced strong backlash when the reasons behind his ban were finally revealed.

For a long time, the reasons for Dr Disrespect’s ban remained a mystery. However, in June, former Twitch staff member Cody Conners claimed that Dr Disrespect was banned due to sexting with a minor via Whispers, a private messaging service on Twitch. While Beahm initially denied the accusations, he later acknowledged some truth to the rumors and announced he would take a vacation. Subsequently, he completely withdrew from social media and streaming.

Recently, a Twitter user named RizlerUK noticed that Dr Disrespect had changed his profile’s header image on Twitter, marking the first update since his vacation began. The new image features a fishing bobber with Dr Disrespect’s logo floating on water at sunset. Many social media users speculated that this image represents Dr Disrespect’s previously announced vacation, as fishing is commonly associated with leisure and relaxation. However, one fan, probMrJT, suggested that the image of dark waters “evokes feelings of isolation and vulnerability, symbolizing being adrift in a vast, unpredictable environment.”

Aside from Midnight Society, nearly all other partners of Dr Disrespect have distanced themselves from him. For instance, gaming accessory manufacturer Turtle Beach ended its partnership with the streamer shortly after the events, promptly removing his merchandise from their website.

Dr Disrespect was also removed from Rogue Company, a free-to-play shooter game, and his in-game skin is no longer available for purchase by players who had bought it previously. This decision was met with disappointment from fans who had purchased the premium skin, though the developers have promised to issue refunds to those affected. As of now, Dr Disrespect’s future plans remain unclear, but it’s possible that he may make a return at some point.
