How to use the Suyu Nintendo Switch emulator
I’ll be covering more videos on the compatibility on Suyu and letting you know as they progress in the emulator. You can easily set up this emulator with this guide below. Remember the legal information on downloading ROMs.
Download and Install Suyu: HERE
Visit the official Suyu website to download the emulator compatible with your operating system (Windows, Linux, or macOS). After downloading, install the emulator on your device.
Acquire Necessary Files:
You’ll need to obtain prod.keys and title.keys files. These are essential for running Switch games and can usually be acquired from your legally owned Nintendo Switch. These files must be placed in the keys folder within the Suyu directory. You can download the firmware and Title keys here.
Additionally, you’ll need to install the Nintendo Switch firmware. Place the dumped firmware files into the nand/system/Contents/registered directory of the Suyu folder.
Set Up Controls:
In Suyu’s settings, navigate to Controls. You can connect a controller or use a keyboard. Ensure that you map the buttons correctly according to your preferred input method.
Load and Play Games:
To load games, add your legally acquired ROMs to the emulator. You can load them by selecting File > Open in the emulator’s menu.
Install Updates and DLCs:
If you need to install game updates or DLCs, go to File > Install Files to NAND and select the corresponding files. The updates should automatically integrate into the game.
Optimize Performance:
If you’re using the emulator on a Steam Deck or other device, you might need to tweak some settings to optimize performance, like adjusting the GPU settings or enabling specific options like Force maximum clocks.
This setup will allow you to play your legally obtained Switch games on your device using Suyu.
