Smites 8.9 Bonus Update Arrives Tuesday 10/5/2021
Smites 8.9 Bonus Update goes live tomorrow on 10/5/2021. This update will provide new skins and some debuffs to some very useful equipment. The debuffs for these items were not needed, and will change a few builds for warriors/hunters/assassins. Its not that big of a nerf but it can change gameplay slightly.
Smites 8.9 Bonus Update Live Tomorrow
The following skins are added and can be viewed below.
Wise Hare Athena

This skin looks like it should be released in Easter, but its still cool.
Molten Machina Fenrir

Now this is my favorite skin for Fenrir. He is defiantly going to rock this skin. I can’t wait to see it.
The Chosen Dragon Ao Kuang

Not everyone can play this character correctly. Its one of my favorite assassins, depending on what gods you go against. He will rock the skin, but he has many good skins already.
Deep Sea Skadi

Now this skin might be a sight to see. I can’t wait to see a shark fighting along side skadi. Its going to be neat.
These following skins will go live Oct 5th 2021. The Fenrir skins looks the best out of the skins we get this bonus update.
Now lets talk about the debuffs for Smites 8.9 Bonus Update.
VAMPIRIC SHROUD Starter Gear

Decrease in Physical Protection from 10 to 5 – ( Small difference, but still a nerf.)
JOTUNN’S WRATH

Decrease physcial power to 45 instead of 50. (They felt the item was to strong)
TRANSCENDENCE

Decrease physcial power to 40 instead of 45.
This gear is used for assassins’ and many hunter builds. They felt that the weapon was a bit overpowered.
Smites 8.9 Bonus Update Nerf/buffs to gods.
Here is a list of god nerfs. Only one buff for Hel, but its not super buff.
SERQET

LAST BREATH
- Decreased Base Damage from (140/230/320/410/500 to 100/175/250/325/400)
- Increased Physical (Power Scaling from 70% to 80%)
This character doesn’t need a debuff, its hard to be the character already. She is very squishy and hard to pick up for new players. So lets mess with the base damage.

RAIJIN

THUNDER CRASH
- This ability will no longer do damage on the lightning smaller AoE before he teleports
- Increased Damage on Thunder AoE – from 40/50/60/70/80 (+30% of your Magical Power) to 60/75/90/105/120 (+50% of your Magical Power)
- Base added together, scaling cut by 10%
Never really knew there was a AOE damage before he teleports, but its gone now so ill never know.

ENERGY SURGE
- Cooldown has been Increased from 11s to 12s (One of my favorite Guardians, Not a big issue or nerf)
Artio is my favorite assault and arena character. She is so pushy, that she does a good amount of damage and heals fast.

CERBERUS

GHASTLY BREATH
- Decreased Protections nerf from 6/9/12/15/18 per stack to 5/7/9/11/13
- (18/27/36/45/54 to 15/21/27/33/39 total)

HEL

INSPIRE
- Minions Are now healed for 50% of the amount (I guess this is good for many game modes.)
- (Decreased Heal Per Tick from 8/12/16/20/24 +5% to 4/6/8/10/12 + 2.5% per tick)
Stay tune for some new smite news and much more. Recent screenshot from a game I played… Check out my healing, those people did like me. We were mostly tanks on assault mode.
