How to tame a Ferox on Ark Survival evolved 4/26/2022
In this post you will learn how to tame a ferox on ark Survival evolved. The ferox was first introduced on the genesis DLC and its great tame for helping you in caves, on the go fights and fighting enemy gigas. Only issue is that ferox’s need element to change and they do lose their form after a some time. Most older maps are hard to get element, unless you got a element dust gachas farm, or set up for boss runs.
Check out my guide on how to tame a ferox on ark Survival evolved.

Where does the ferox spawn?
Feroxes are found on 3 different maps. Lost isles, Genesis 1 and Genesis 2. Lost isles map is the hardest to tame a ferox and its a big waste of time. To tame a ferox you need element and lost isles doesn’t have to much of it. So you should either tame one on Genesis 1 or Genesis 2 map.
Genesis one can be found in the snow biodome at 70 lat 26 long. Inside a cave near a mission terminal. The cave has polar bears and wolves. Inside the cave at the first entrance. You can tame them here if you want, but it is easier on genesis 2 because of the tek suit. They can be found on genesis 2 62 lat 73 long.
Genesis 2 is the more ideal map to tame feroxes as long as people haven’t built in the area. The only issue you might find is other spawn that is in the area might make the ferox attack them. To tame a Ferox, you will need the following.

- Element
- Wits
- Patients
- Something to kill aggressive/spawn. They attack everything when in big forum.
Now lets learn how to tame a ferox. Once you find the location its surrounded by water and a long island. You can find them mixed in the spawn with jerboa’s and otters. They come to you if you hover above the ground. The process takes long time to tame. You need to land near them when there small and coming to you. Have the element in the last bar. Once they approach you will need to feed him the element by clicking on the last slot where the element is in. This method is how to tame a ferox
Then feed the element by feeding the element in your hot bar. You have to use the hotkey the element is in to feed the Ferox. The ferox will then enrage into big form. Hover above head and avoid being hit. Rinse and repeat this process. Make sure no spawn is near the ferox and this process should keep until tamed.

What can troubles can a ferox cause you? There aggressive and can kill you. Always make sleeping bags, if on genesis 2 and the area is pillared. You can place a raft in the river next to you place small bed and sleeping bags. Another issue would be they attack something that causes the taming effectiveness to go down. Main reason they can be a pain. Never trap a passive tame they will disappear. They also dismount you.
This is my guide on taming ferox’s easy, hope it helps you and helps you get your ferox breeding line going. This guide is based on PVE, I don’t care to much for PVP. If you need further help, let me know in comments.
