Xbox Game Pass December: Indy’s Arrival & A Fatal Finishing Move

unnamed 5

The green team brings the whip, the fedora, and the fatalities to close out 2025.

Okay, Xbox fans, let’s be real. If you’ve been holding onto your subscription waiting for the “big one,” this is the month.

While PlayStation is leaning into family fun with LEGO, Microsoft is bringing out the heavy artillery. December 2025 is arguably the most aggressive month for Game Pass we’ve seen all year, headlined by one of the most anticipated first-party titles of the generation.

Here is the breakdown of what is hitting your console, PC, and Cloud this month.

The Heavy Hitters

1. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (Dec 4)

  • Available on: Xbox Series X|S, PC, Cloud
  • Tier: Ultimate & Premium

This is it. After years of teasers, MachineGames (the folks who rebooted Wolfenstein) are finally handing us the whip. Set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, this first-person adventure drops officially on Thursday.

Reviews are already praising the immersion—you aren’t just playing as Indy; you are living in that 1930s pulp world. If you have a Game Pass Ultimate or Premium sub, you get this Day One. Pre-loading is available now, so make sure you have the drive space ready.

2. Mortal Kombat 1 (Dec 10)

  • Available on: Xbox Series X|S, PC, Cloud
  • Tier: Ultimate, Premium, PC

In a massive “series swap,” as Mortal Kombat 11 leaves the service later this month (see below), the newest entry, Mortal Kombat 1, enters the ring. This is the rebooted universe created by Fire God Liu Kang. It features the new “Kameo” fighter system and some of the most gruesome fatalities in the franchise’s history. It’s perfect timing for holiday gaming sessions where you want to destroy your cousins in 4K.

Available Today (December 2)

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

  • Genre: Narrative Adventure
  • For fans of: Life is Strange, 90s nostalgia

Drop everything and download this if you love story games. From the original creators of Life is Strange, this narrative adventure splits time between 1995 and 2022. You play as Swann, filming her friends during a magical summer that ends in a secret so dark they promise never to speak of it again. It’s moody, emotional, and perfect for a rainy Tuesday night.

Coming Soon (The Calendar)

  • Dec 3: Monster Train 2 – The sequel to one of the best deck-builders ever made. If you liked Slay the Spire, this will consume your life.
  • Dec 3: Spray Paint Simulator – Exactly what it says on the tin. Oddly relaxing and surprisingly deep.
  • Dec 4: 33 Immortals (Game Preview) – A 33-player co-op roguelike. It’s chaotic raid-style combat where you have to coordinate with dozens of other players to survive.
  • Dec 4: Routine – A sci-fi horror game set on an abandoned lunar base with an 80s retro-future aesthetic. It’s a Day One release that looks absolutely terrifying.

⚠️ Leaving Soon (Last Chance to Play)

Bad news: You have until December 15 to finish these before they vanish:

  • Mortal Kombat 11 (Swapped for MK1)
  • Still Wakes the Deep
  • Wildfrost

Final Verdict

Microsoft wins the “Blockbuster” award this month. Indiana Jones is a system-seller level game dropping essentially for free for subscribers. Combined with Mortal Kombat 1 and the indie charm of Lost Records, your hard drive is going to be full before the week ends.
